RESEARCH

The Eugene Health and Performance Foundation just completed a study entitled "The Effect of Grounding on Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness." The study was conducted under the auspices of the University of Oregon and sought to determine if having a body grounded to the earth's free electron field affected recovery from an induced minor muscle injury.

The study was a pilot study and encompassed a wide range of injury markers. There were several distinct differences between those subjects who were grounded to the earth over a 5 night period and those who were not. Another study using more subjects and those markers that seemed to differentiate between groups is planned in the near future.

The paper on the study is to be published in the National Institutes of Health Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine in March 2010.
