ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Since its founding, EHP has accomplished the following:

  • Conducted numerous clinics and classes. These include the University of Oregon, South Eugene High School, USA Track & Field, the Oregon State Penitentiary System and the Lydiard Foundation.
  • Developed a computer running program based on the work of Arthur Lydiard and is now working with the Lydiard Foundation to promote and share scientifically sound and safe training protocols to runners and coaches through online materials and support.
  • Four young women — Emily McMahon, Brianna Anderson-Gregg, Heather Spinney, and Sidnie Johnson — train with EHP. In addition to coaching and competitive opportunities, these young women receive tuition and other financial support from EHP. Two have recently graduated from the University of Oregon, one is enrolled at the University of Oregon, and the fourth is enrolled at Lane Community College. Three of the four have competed at the national and/or international level.
  • Assumed responsibility, from the University of Oregon, for OregonPDF, which makes almost 11,000 dissertation and theses in health and performance available to universities around the world.
  • Currently is modifying the SciEX Fitness program to the MyPE program for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.
  • Completed a study of the effects of electrical grounding on delayed onset muscle soreness. Results will be published in the NIH sponsored Journal of Alternative and Contemporary Medicine. EHP plans a larger study in spring 2010.
  • As a part of their commitment to the community and the foundation's mission, foundation founder and athletes have volunteered over 2400 hours to local schools and community organizations, including Sheldon and Philomath High Schools, Food for Lane County, Women's Space, the White Bird Clinic, and the Oregon State Penitentiary System.
